This type of necklace is a traditional piece of jewelry worn by Mayan women in Guatemala. The pendant is made of a large real coin, Several smaller coins are welded to the large coin on the pendant. The large coin is probably a restrike, but an old restrike. There are metal charms on the necklace. The pendant has charm dangles and quezal birds (National bird of Guatemala) charms are welded to the top of the coin pendant. The necklace is about 13 1/2" long from center back to center front.
